LJK Law Files Federal Copyright Action on Behalf of Pittsburgh Artist   12 June 2026
LJK Law is proud to represent Pittsburgh artist James Kanfoush in a federal copyright action alleging the unauthorized reproduction and display of his original mural, The Real City of Champions. The lawsuit asserts that replicas of Mr. Kanfoush's hand-painted work were displayed in multiple Primanti Bros. locations without his authorization and after his identifying signature and contact information had been removed. Our client seeks to protect the rights afforded to artists under federal copyright law and the Visual Artists Rights Act, reinforcing the principle that original creative works cannot be commercially reproduced or exploited without the artist's permission. We look forward to presenting the merits of Mr. Kanfoush's claims through the judicial process.

Louis J. Kroeck IV argued the appeal on behalf of FireTEK.
